Fleet Sheets

Improving the Quality of Life at Sea

About

Joining the US Navy in February of 2001 as an Electronics Technician (ET), My first assignment was on the USS Chancellorsville (CG-62) based in Yokosuka, Japan, from 2002 to 2004. In 2005, I switched job fields and became an Information Systems Technician (IT), relocating to the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) in Sicily, Italy, where I served until 2007.

Subsequent tours included:

  • Commander, Seventh Fleet (C7F), USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), Yokosuka, Japan, 2007 to 2009.
  • Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, 2009 to 2012
  • Naval Mobile Construction Battalions 4 & 5, Port Hueneme, California, 2012 to 2015
  • Selected, Accepted, Promoted to Chief Petty Officer, 2013.

During my time aboard the USS Blue Ridge, I encountered a challenge with the comfort and aesthetics of the standard sailor's rack sheets. Seeking a solution, I turned to my resourceful and talented Grandma “Dee”, who had a wealth of experience creating beautiful quilts. Together, we discussed the specific needs and requirements, resulting in the creation of the first set of Fleet Sheets.

Word quickly spread among the crew about the improved sheets, and their demand grew. Realizing the impracticality of relying solely on my grandmother's skills, I conducted extensive research and established Fleet Sheets as a business. Over time, we expanded our product line to include various colors and embroidery options available through our online retail platform. Fleet Sheets now delivers high-quality sheets to sailors and their families across the United States, Military FPO/APO addresses, and international locations, with the mission of “Improving the Quality of Life at Sea.”

While there are other businesses providing similar products, we urge you to consider supporting us and Veteran-Owned Businesses whenever possible. We extend our gratitude to the families and friends who make significant sacrifices in support of our officers and sailors. To all the active-duty, reserve, and veteran US Navy Sailors, US Coast Guard Sailors, and US Marines, we appreciate your service, commitment, and sacrifices.

Thanks for standing the watch!

Cheers,
