IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE AT SEA

A US Navy Veteran, honorably discharged after 15 years of active duty service. Enlisted in 2001 as an Electronics Technician (ET) and took my first orders to the USS Chancellorsville (CG-62), homeport Yokosuka, Japan, 2002-2004. Changed job fields (cross-rate) to Information Systems Technician (IT) and took orders to the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS), Sicily, Italy, 2005-2007.

Follow on tours included:

  • Staff for Commander, Seventh Fleet (COMSEVENTHFLT), embarked on-board the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), Yokosuka, Japan, 2007-2009.
  • Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, 2009-2012.
  • Naval Mobile Construction Battalions 4 & 5, Port Hueneme, Ventura County, California, 2012-2015.
  • Selected, Accepted, Promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2013.

First set of Fleet Sheets made their appearance on the USS Blue Ridge in 2009. I reached out for help from one of the smartest innovators I know - my Grandma Dee, who had been making very creative and comfortable quilts for years. We talked about the unique needs of a sailor’s rack - comfort, ease, and aesthetics - and she made my first set. Once my new sheets arrived onboard, it didn't take long before most of the crew got wind and wanted a set. I wasn't going to ask Grandma to make sheets for the whole crew so I did some research and before long Fleet Sheets was started.

Navy Fleet Sheets has evolved quite a bit. With huge support from the Coast Guard we dropped “Navy” and pressed on as “Fleet Sheets.” We have also added popular colors and embroidery options to our online retail products. Fleet Sheets delivers US domestic, Military FPO/APO, and international direct to Sailors and their families anywhere in the world. Our mission is:

“Improving the Quality of Life at Sea.”

Though there are other small businesses out there providing similar products, please consider us and support Veteran Owned Businesses whenever possible.

To all the families & friends who make great sacrifices in support of your Officers and Sailors. To all active-duty, reserve, and veteran US Navy Sailors, US Coast Guard Sailors, and US Marines:

Thanks for standing the watch!
