About Me

I’ve been sewing all my life. I started doing handwork before I started school and was using a machine by age 9. Being the youngest female in my family, I was last in line to use the machine. Consequently, this diminished birthright lead to greater efficiency by the time it was “my turn” on the machine.

My husband and I have been sailing the coast of Maine for twenty five years on series of boats. I made custom fitted sheets for each boat, refining my methods of construction along the way, so I was used to having sheets that fit. The frustration of making a bed on a boat is something that never affected me. This is until we did our first bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands. We rented a beautiful boat. It was only when it came time to make the bed that I realized how good I had it on my own boat. Thus, the idea of Fleet Sheets came to me. I felt others must also be going through that back breaking ordeal. Not to mention waking up with the imprint of the cushion fabric on your cheek.

I do enjoy working with my customers, refining their needs, and making a product that makes their boating experience more fun.
